The Merkle root commits to every note that has ever been created on this chain — including all coinbase rewards and all transaction outputs. It is included in every block header. Wallets use this root as the anchor for ZK spend proofs.

What you can see — and what you cannot.

This explorer shows the Merkle tree structure and the encrypted payloads of all notes on-chain. The plaintext contents (amounts, owners) are only visible to the recipient's wallet. Even the explorer operator cannot read balances. This is the privacy guarantee: the chain contains only cryptographic commitments, not financial data.
